The common narrative is that AI levels the playing field, same tools, same access, equal footing for everyone. It's not true, and I'd argue it does the opposite.

Your understanding and your AI ability aren't additive, they're closer to a multiplier. Terence Tao got real mathematical insight out of ChatGPT in under three minutes on a question most people couldn't even ask. That's basically Jim Yagmin's point too: the output is just the byproduct of understanding, not the goal itself.

So the people who use AI to learn something new every single day aren't getting ahead a little. They're compounding an advantage daily, against people using the same AI to avoid learning at all. That gap isn't fair, and it isn't going to close. It's going to get very visible, very fast.
